CABANA pendant lamp - Arturo Álvarez

CABANA pendant lamp designed by Isaac Piñeiro and manufactured by the Spanish firm of Arturo Álvarez.

The Cabana lamp seeks to offer a sense of seclusion and shelter similar to the Galician cabanas that served as a structure for the protection of raw materials or as a shelter from inclement weather. It is a lamp created by means of the 3D knitting method for the manufacture of its lampshade, commonly used in the textile industry but little applied in lighting. This process permits creating seamless, three-dimensional lampshades without generating surplus fabric. The upper fastening piece, made of aluminium, the fabric and gravity do the rest.

The parchment diffuser provides the weight for the lamp to take its shape. It also provides a light filter that generates a very comfortable homogeneous illumination, like the shelter of the cabanas. It is very easy to install and can be easily dismantled to replace the light source. In addition to using recycled and recyclable material, the lamp can be shipped in a package of reduced dimensions and stretched to take its final shape and volume, reducing its carbon footprint. It comes in a range of three colours: electric blue, orange and off-white. However, its production permits working in different colours and can adapt to the needs of each project and generate the right ambience for the space and the people.

Its rosette is made of matt black painted steel, with black cable and a length of 150cm.
