DIPPING LIGHT ceiling/wall lamp - Marset

DIPPING LIGHT ceiling lamp designed by Jordi Canudas and manufactured by the Spanish firm Marset.

Beyond its function as a lamp, Dipping Light seeks to excite. When switched on, it is fascinating: its different shades of paint sift the light, creating a magical effect in the atmosphere. When switched off, it transforms into a coloured glass sphere, a highly aesthetically charged object.

Dipping Light was born as an experiment - dipping a lit light bulb in paint several times - and becomes a lamp. The various layers of paint draw concentric circles and trap the light, attenuating its intensity. The paint becomes a shade, colouring the light and giving it texture. This handcrafted process makes each lamp unique and exclusive.

This version can function as a wall or ceiling lamp, depending on where it is placed. A design in which its support comes in two different finishes - gold and graphite - and in which its downward light is dimmed by the colour of the lampshade.
