FUNICULÍ table lamp designed by Lluís Porqueras and manufactured by the Spanish firm Marset.

For Lluís Porqueras, design consisted of eliminating the superfluous to the point of leaving an essential object: beautiful, useful and simple. This is what he did with the Funiculí, a 1979 lamp that Marset reissued in 2013 and which has become an emblem of the collection.

It is light, takes up almost no space and can function as an ambient lamp or as a direct light lamp, depending on how its illumination is directed. Its designer liberated the lampshade to give it maximum mobility, it can be oriented up to 360 degrees and focus the light wherever it is desired and also has a double clamp system that permits varying the height of the diffuser, raising and lowering it. For the Funiculí, forty years are nothing, it has managed to stand the test of time and is now available in new colours that expand its possibilities even further. It is no longer only available in neutral colours such as moss grey, black or off-white.

The new colours of green, terracotta and mustard are intense, they are design statements, they highlight the shapes of the Funiculí and bring chromaticism to the space. The new shades are cheerful and vivid, expressing that colour can also be essential.
