Know more about THEIA floor lamp - Marset
THEIA floor lamp designed by Mathias Hahn and manufactured by the Spanish company Marset.
The name of the Greek goddess Theia - mother of the sun, the moon and the dawn - gives this lamp its name because its design is intended to express above all the beauty of light and the fascination we feel for it. In Theia, materials and shapes are only the means to materialise the concept that has motivated his work: to unite light and shadow in the same piece.
Theia has two faces; to discover them, all you have to do is turn it gently on its axis. It can be directed towards the user and functions as a reading lamp. Or towards an object or a wall, creating a subtle indirect light effect that brings warmth. This twist completely changes the perception of the piece, as its metallic diffuser is totally opaque.
Its formal design is simpler than it appears: two hemispheres placed horizontally and vertically intersecting each other. Elementary shapes that make it possible for light to be projected from a light source, reflected and absorbed by objects, so that it can be admired.
